John O'Groats Campsite right by the sea, overlooking the beach, great spot, lovely people running the place with hot showers (20p) and good facilities. (£10 for 2 man tent) ****
Thurso Campsite overlooking the bay, close to town centre. Plenty of space and has a communal hall with tables and chairs, kettle and microwave to escape from the rain. Rubbish showers, in need of updating, but overall a nice site. (Cost of camping donated to our charity) ***
Bettyhill Wild camping camped down by the beach. Good to watch the sunset, hard work pushing bikes across sand and sand gets everywhere, not the best nights sleep! **
Lairg Campsite lovely clean site with laundrette, nice hot showers, helpful staff. (£6.50 for 2 man tent) ****
Evanton Campsite holiday campiste for families. Very well maintained, with v. good facilities, busy place. (£10 for 2 man tent) ****
Inverness YHA only had dorm rooms left, beds not very comfy and too short. Warm with internet access and a drying room. Busy place, very helpful friendly staff who let us charge things in their office. £17.50 each. ***
Foyers Wild camping Good spot in Forestry Commission picnic area. ***
Stronabar Campsite small site, basic but fine (£9 for 2 man tent) ***
Fort William B&B Dalkeld, lovely b&b, with nice rooms and hot showers, very comfortable and friendly. (£60 for 2) ****
Tyndrum Campsite (£12 for 2 man tent), good cafe nearby, cooking facilities, other campers were noisy at 6am, lots of midges***
Balloch Norwood B&B (£44 for twin room) Very clean and tidy, nice breakfast, owner kindly washed our wet, dirty waterproofs, good location ***
Motherwell Strathclyde Park Campsite (£4.70 for 2 man tent) Big campsite, good value. **
Abington Campsite neat site with laundry facilities and good showers (£10 for 2 man tent) ****
Ecclefechan Cressfield Campsite (£15 for 2 man tent) Expensive and toilet block is too far from camping area, more geared up for caravans than tents, but lots of space **
