Friday 22nd August

After a needed later start due to yesterday's late finish we set of about 10am. Liz was probably secretly pleased as my knee injury that started yesterday was still quite sore. I was determined not to let it spoil the day and my bionic man status so i pushed on. Liz is doing really well now, at the start of the trip i could have a bit of food a cigarette and go to the loo and have time to thing about the nature of the universe until Liz would appear over the crest of the hill. Now i get off my bike and am just about to find a suitable resting spot when Liz appears smilling and singing saying "You alright, ready to go".

So slightly hampered by my knee we eventually found the road that we wanted to cycle on. The roads are a bit like spaghetti junction and our map is not that detailed but we got there and enjoyed 32 miles of pllesant cycling with mainly gently inclines and good cycle paths. We are now about 1 mile outside of Abington in Welcome Break, hense the internet connection. We can see the bikes from the window and its amusing watching people pass the bikes at the entrance with puzzled looks on their faces. I waved at one particulary interested couple who came in and had a chat with us. It's great to have support like that, they even said they would donate, fantatsic! Well it's about 1 mile to our campsite we are going to treat ourselves to some food so we can get some aching muscles massaged and some sleep so we are ready for a full day tomorrow. Hopefully we shall make it to England tomorrow which will be a big mile stone for us.

My thoughts often wonder while i cycle, to what people will think if we don't finish by the end of the month, will they be disappointed, cross angry or what. We still hope to finish the trip by the end of the month but its going to be hard. So we will keep doing our best and we will finish the ride, quite when has yet to be written.

Thanks again for all your support so far its fab!

ps from Liz - I'm really enjoying cycle touring now :)
